Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary or museum edits needing visitor-shot marine park entertainment footage from Southern California.
Period detail: The Marineland backdrop, concrete pool stage, simple props, and 8mm color home-movie look support the stated 1962 setting.
Home-movie behavior: A spectator records the trainer and dolphin from a distant seated viewpoint, preserving the scale and casual timing of a public show.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a trainer, dolphin pool, Marineland sign, life ring, small boat prop, stage steps, ropes, and metal rigging.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm grain, saturated blue water, slight exposure variation, and contact-sheet framing that reads as scanned home-movie film.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a brief cutaway, era-setting insert, or transition into material about marine attractions and animal performance.
Historical context: The footage shows mid-century public marine entertainment as seen by an audience member, with the animal act framed across the pool edge.
Research note: Human likeness and the visible Marineland name or logo may require review separate from copyright and footage licensing questions.
Research search match: Searches for 1962 8mm Marineland dolphin show, Los Angeles marine park home movie, or vintage dolphin trainer footage may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then other 1962 Los Angeles or Marineland material, then broader vintage marine animal performance footage.
