Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1960s Los Angeles zoo or animal exhibit requests needing brief editorial cutaway footage of a seal entering a pool.
Period detail: The concrete pool, turquoise water, and saturated 8mm color may show a mid-century zoo enclosure in Los Angeles.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot home-movie viewpoint, watching the animal's slow movement rather than staging an action for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a dark seal, concrete ledges, turquoise pool water, a small water feature, sunlit enclosure surfaces, and film gate edges.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm grain, rich blue-green color, uneven exposure, and slight handheld framing consistent with scanned home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, animal cutaway, zoo memory beat, or transition into a broader sequence on public leisure or wildlife display.
Historical context: The scene offers visual context for how zoo animals and exhibit pools appeared to a visitor filming in early 1960s Los Angeles.
Research note: No people, logos, or audible music are indicated, but animal facility property and underlying film copyright should still be reviewed for intended use.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1960s Los Angeles zoo seal, vintage 8mm animal pool, black seal swimming, and home movie zoo footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Los Angeles 1962 zoo material, then broader vintage animal or public leisure footage.
