People Stand Outside A Large Outdoor Pool With Diving Board — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage footage captures a high-angle view of a large outdoor swimming pool complex in Mexico City. The turquoise water is marked with lanes, and a diving platform stands at one end. A small group of people in period attire stands near the poolside, while others walk across the grassy area. The scene is framed by a dark border, characteristic of home movie film, with visible grain and warm color tones typical of 1960s Super 8 footage. The camera slowly pans, revealing more of the expansive pool and surrounding greenery.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Mexico City recreation, public pool, leisure, or urban travel sequences needing brief 8mm home-movie atmosphere.
Period detail: The elevated viewpoint, formal pool layout, diving platform, and small figures in period dress may show a 1962 public swimming facility visit.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has visitor-shot value, observing people gathered near the pool from a high vantage point rather than staging action for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include lane-marked turquoise pools, a diving platform, paved walkways, lawn areas, railings, and small groups of people.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm texture with visible grain, soft focus, slight color shift, and dark frame borders from the scanned film strip.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, establishing insert, travel-memory beat, or transition into recreation and public-space material.
Historical context: The scene provides visual context for mid-century outdoor leisure space in Mexico City without identifying the exact facility or event.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed even though no logos, music, or private interiors are evident.
Research search match: Search matches include 1962 Mexico City 8mm pool footage, outdoor swimming pool with diving board, and vintage public recreation home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Mexico City 1962 footage, then broader 1960s outdoor leisure or swimming scenes.
