Gondoliers Propelling Traditional Boats on City Canals — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage footage captures a lively scene on the canals of Mexico City. Passengers in traditional boats, some with decorative canopies, enjoy a leisurely ride as gondoliers in white shirts and hats propel the vessels with long poles. The film shows close-ups of women in 1960s dresses and heels, and wider shots of multiple boats navigating through waterways lined with tall trees. The footage has a distinct blue and purple color cast typical of aged Super 8 film, with visible grain and soft focus, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century tourism and transportation in Mexico City.
