Tampa Florida USA-1960: Two Older Women Walking Across A Pier To A Picnic Table

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Serves 1960s Americana, Florida travel, and women's leisure documentary requests needing candid mid-century coastal footage with identifiable period atmosphere.

Period detail

Women's short-sleeve day dresses, small decorative hats, and handbag style are consistent with early-1960s fashion; stone pedestal picnic furniture suggests a public beachfront facility of that era.

Home-movie behavior

The cameraperson follows the two women candidly as they walk and settle at the picnic table, capturing unposed, unhurried vacation behavior with no awareness of the camera.

What appears in frame

Two older women in pale short-sleeve dresses and small hats, stone round pedestal picnic tables, striped coastal barrier railing, blue ocean with visible wave crests, seated background figures, and orange-red bollard posts.

Film character

Warm Kodachrome-style color saturation, visible film grain, and slight highlight overexposure give the footage authentic 8mm texture characteristic of early-1960s amateur home movie stock.

Edit role

Works as a nostalgic insert or memory-beat cutaway in Florida travel, mid-century American leisure, or women's social history segments; the walking-to-settling action also supports a brief transition.

Historical context

The stone pedestal seating and open beachfront promenade may reflect public coastal recreation infrastructure common at Florida resort areas in the early 1960s; attire aligns with modest mid-century vacation dress conventions.

Research note

Two identifiable adult women and several background figures are visible throughout; likeness rights cannot be confirmed from the footage alone, and production use should seek appropriate clearances.
