Tampa Florida USA-1960: Two Women Enjoy Beach Walk Near Pier

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits requests for 1960s Florida beach leisure footage; suits documentary B-roll on mid-century American vacation culture or regional coastal tourism history.

Period detail

Mid-length day dresses, white sun hats, and the pier's open timber trestle construction suggest early-to-mid 1960s; color drift and grain are consistent with aged 8mm stock.

Home-movie behavior

Shot by an unseen companion recording two women on a casual beachside stroll — unstaged leisure captured in the observational style of personal home-movie filmmaking.

What appears in frame

Long timber trestle pier over calm water, sandy beach, distant bathers at the waterline, two women in patterned dresses and white hats, red bollards, small palm shrub, concrete promenade edge, blue-shifted sky.

Film character

Warm tones have shifted toward blue-purple over decades, with characteristic 8mm grain and slight sky overexposure; film gate edges are faintly visible at frame borders.

Edit role

The wide pier shots function as location-establishing inserts; the two-shot of the women works as a character or memory beat within a mid-century Florida or summer-leisure narrative.

Historical context

The style of dress and public beach setting reflect mid-century American leisure culture; the pier's timber trestle structure may be period-identifiable to local Florida historians.

Research note

Two individuals are clearly identifiable on-camera in close-up frames; public beach setting reduces property concerns, but likeness rights cannot be assumed cleared for commercial use.
