Albany New York-1955: Lady With Tulip Bouquet While Boy Wrestles Woman In Green Dress

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fills a mid-1950s American domestic life slot in documentary or educational productions seeking candid 8mm footage of postwar family gatherings.

Period detail

A white knit sweater, green sheath dress, and heeled shoes are consistent with mid-1950s women's fashion; tungsten interior lighting and 8mm color grain reinforce a circa 1955–1957 date.

Home-movie behavior

The camera swings loosely between a floor-level scuffle and the woman cradling her tulip bouquet, preserving the fractured attention of someone filming their own family mid-gathering.

What appears in frame

Pink and white tulip bouquet, laughing woman in white knit sweater, green dress lower body with heeled shoes, dark patterned carpet, black lamp fixture, deep blue wall or curtain, partially visible second figure.

Film character

Saturated 8mm color with visible grain in shadow areas, motion blur in the active wrestling frames, and warm tungsten cast give the footage its characteristic mid-century home-movie texture.

Edit role

Serves as a warm memory-beat cutaway within a domestic sequence, or as a brief insert bridging an action moment to the intimate still-life of the tulip bouquet.

Historical context

Postwar American domestic gatherings of the mid-1950s often featured elaborate floral gifts; the informal physical play and relaxed laughter suggest a festive social occasion filmed without staging.

Research note

An identifiable adult face is clearly visible in frames 2–3; likeness rights for recognizable individuals must be assessed per intended use. Private residential interior; no logos or branded items apparent.
