Albany New York-1955: Middle-Aged Woman in Red Coat Walking From House

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1950s Albany-area domestic life requests needing brief home-movie footage of a woman leaving a suburban house in winter or early spring light.

Period detail

The red coat, light trousers, white-sided house, garage, utility poles, and rounded mid-century car may show a 1950s residential neighborhood setting.

Home-movie behavior

The woman stands on the porch and then walks away from the house in an unstaged family-film moment focused on ordinary movement rather than ceremony.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a woman in a red coat, white house facade, porch area, evergreen shrubs, driveway or street, garage, utility poles, and a pale blue car.

Film character

The 8mm scan has soft focus, faded color, uneven exposure, gate edges, dust specks, and handheld framing that preserve its physical home-movie texture.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a domestic-life insert, neighborhood transition, memory beat, or short cutaway within a postwar family or suburban sequence.

Historical context

The footage gives a small visual record of mid-century residential life, with attention on clothing, house frontage, yard plantings, and nearby automobile presence.

Research note

A person is visible and the house setting may raise likeness or property-review questions separate from copyright status, so use should be checked for context.
