Woman Sitting By Pool In Garden — Clip Details

A woman in a light-colored suit sits beside a circular pool in a meticulously landscaped garden, captured on 8mm film in 1952. Her dark, styled hair frames her face as she holds a small handbag, with manicured hedges, blooming flowers, and a white pergola visible in the background. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain, vibrant yet slightly faded colors, and a soft focus typical of home movies from the early 1950s. The camera remains mostly static, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century leisure and garden design.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s California home-movie footage for productions needing a quiet garden leisure insert with an adult woman seated beside a circular pool.
Period detail: The light suit, structured hairstyle, manicured beds, clipped shrubs, benches, and white pergola may show mid-century garden design and visitor dress.
Home-movie behavior: The woman sits and faces the camera with a composed, personal pose, giving the scene the unstaged value of a family travel or leisure memory.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the seated woman, circular pool, blue water, planted bed, clipped hedges, white benches, and a small white pergola.
Film character: The 8mm footage has soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, saturated blue water, and contact-sheet framing that preserve its physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, garden cutaway, travel insert, or transition into 1950s leisure and outdoor domestic settings.
Historical context: The scene places an adult woman within a formal landscaped public or garden setting, suggesting mid-century leisure without identifying the site or event.
Research note: A recognizable adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed in addition to normal copyright and any location or property assessment.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1952 California 8mm garden pool woman, mid-century home movie formal garden, and 1950s woman by reflecting pool.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with 1952 California travel footage, then with 1950s gardens, pools, and posed home-movie portraits.
