Shot on 8mm film in 1951, this vintage home movie captures a joyful birthday celebration in West Germany. A woman and several young children gather around a small cake adorned with candles, their faces lit with excitement. The grainy black-and-white footage shows the children leaning in to blow out the candles, their expressions a mix of anticipation and delight. The woman smiles warmly, sharing in the moment as the candles flicker and the children celebrate. The intimate, handheld camera work and film grain evoke a nostalgic, personal memory of mid-century family life.
