View Of The Water And Two Women Standing On The Dock — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched waterfront scene from a boat. Two women in summer attire stand on the deck, one in a striped top and sunglasses, the other in a blue dress, both gazing toward the shore. The view across the water reveals a colonial-style town with white buildings and a prominent church steeple under a partly cloudy sky. The footage shows natural film grain and slight color fading, evoking a nostalgic 1970s vacation memory. The camera remains steady, offering a relaxed, observational perspective of a leisurely cruise.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s editorial or documentary sequences needing a Florida waterfront cruise view with vacationers and shoreline architecture.
Period detail: The summer clothing, sunglasses, 8mm color palette, and passenger-boat setting support a mid-1970s leisure-travel reading without identifying a specific site.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value, with women casually standing at a boat rail and glancing between the water, shore, and camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include open water, shoreline buildings, a church steeple, boat railings, two women, deck hardware, sky, and passing waterfront structures.
Film character: The footage shows soft 8mm texture, visible grain, mild color fading, bright daylight exposure, and slight home-movie blur across the contact frames.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief cutaway, travel-memory insert, waterfront transition, or observational beat within a 1970s vacation sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects leisure travel by boat, with passengers viewing a built waterfront from the deck rather than a staged tourist presentation.
Research note: Visible adult faces and waterfront buildings may require likeness or property review, while copyright clearance is separate from these visual rights checks.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1975 8mm Florida waterfront, women on boat deck, vintage cruise home movie, shoreline town view, or 1970s vacation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Florida 1975 waterfront material, then broader 1970s boat-trip or vacation scenes.
