A Wide Video Of A Location Near A River — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a scenic waterfront view from a moving vessel. The footage shows a distant shoreline with low-rise buildings and houses, likely a coastal town or resort area, viewed across calm blue water. The perspective suggests a boat or ferry journey, with the camera panning across the landscape. The image quality is soft with natural film grain, scratches, and slight blurriness typical of Super 8 home movies. The scene evokes a sense of travel and nostalgia, with a quiet, sun-drenched atmosphere characteristic of Florida in the mid-1970s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Florida 8mm waterfront footage for productions needing a brief travel, shoreline, or boat-view establishing insert.
Period detail: The low-rise waterfront buildings, soft color stock, and home-movie framing may show a mid-1970s coastal or riverside Florida view.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective from a moving vessel, observing the shoreline casually rather than staging a scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue water, a distant shoreline, low buildings, houses, a waterfront complex, dark boat railing or window edges, and soft sky.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, slight scratches, muted color, and handheld movement from the vessel.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short establishing cutaway, travel transition, or memory beat between Florida waterfront scenes.
Historical context: The view suggests leisure travel or sightseeing along a Florida waterfront, with built shoreline and calm water seen from offshore.
Research note: No people, logos, or audible music are indicated, but building/property context and underlying film copyright should still be reviewed.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1970s Florida waterfront 8mm, home movie boat view shoreline, vintage coastal buildings, and river or harbor travel footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1975 Florida waterfront material, then broader vintage boat-trip or coastal travel views.
