Florida USA-1975: Woman Observing Elephants At Night

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1970s Florida home-movie footage for productions needing a zoo or vacation insert with an adult visitor observing elephants at night.

Period detail

The blue patterned dress, 8mm color palette, simple exhibit lighting, and palm-lined street may show mid-1970s leisure travel in Florida.

Home-movie behavior

The value is in the quiet visitor-shot moment as the woman pauses near the enclosure and the camera later drifts to a sunlit tropical street.

What appears in frame

Visible details include two elephants, hay bedding, a wooden post, overhead exhibit lights, a woman in a patterned dress, palm trees, a road, and a red hydrant.

Film character

The clip has soft 8mm grain, saturated blues and greens, uneven night exposure, slight blur, and handheld framing typical of scanned home movies.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief travel-memory beat, zoo cutaway, animal exhibit insert, or transition from nighttime attraction to daytime Florida street scene.

Historical context

The footage reflects a tourist or family perspective on animal exhibits and tropical streetscapes without identifying the zoo or exact city from the frames alone.

Research note

An adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed, while copyright, zoo permissions, and any property concerns should be assessed separately.
