A Pond Surrounded By Trees And Grass In A Large Open — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a serene summer day at a Minnesota golf course. The footage reveals expansive green fairways bordered by dense trees and a tranquil pond, with a distant view of a rustic cabin. A lone golfer in light-colored clothing walks across the grassy expanse under a bright blue sky. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm home-movie footage suited to documentary or educational requests for Minnesota leisure landscapes, golf-course grounds, ponds, and quiet outdoor recreation.
Period detail: The clip may show a mid-1970s golf-course setting, with open fairways, trimmed grass, informal handheld framing, and a distant light-clothed golfer as visible era clues.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged visitor viewpoint, lingering on fairways, trees, and water rather than presenting a formal scenic survey.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include green fairways, dense summer trees, a small pond or water hazard, distant low structures, blue sky, shoreline rocks, and one small golfer figure.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, slight gate edges, uneven exposure, and handheld drift that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet establishing cutaway, memory beat, or transitional insert for 1970s recreation, travel, or Midwestern summer atmosphere.
Historical context: The scene reflects leisure use of a maintained green landscape, with golf-course-like grounds set among trees and water in the Duluth, Minnesota metadata context.
Research note: A small person is visible at distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos are visible, and copyright clearance remains separate from location or likeness checks.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1975 8mm Minnesota golf course, Duluth pond and fairway home movie, 1970s summer recreation footage, and vintage trees and grass landscape.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel outdoor shots, then Duluth or Minnesota footage from 1975, then broader 1970s golf, pond, park, or summer leisure material.
