People Relaxing At The Ocean And Swimming Pool — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a serene summer day at a lakeside property in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The footage opens with a view of a calm blue lake bordered by a white picket fence and a red swing set. A person in light-colored clothing relaxes on a lounge chair near the pool, while the camera pans across the tranquil waters and surrounding greenery. The warm, slightly faded colors and soft focus evoke a nostalgic, sun-drenched atmosphere typical of 1970s family vacations. This authentic archival clip is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic storytelling about mid-century American leisure.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s U.S. home-movie requests needing lakeside leisure, poolside relaxation, or summer vacation cutaways with visible people.
Period detail: The clip may show 1970s outdoor leisure details, including a white fence, lounge chairs, a red swing set, and saturated 8mm color at a waterfront property.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged family-film perspective, observing a quiet pool and lakeside yard with a person reclining rather than posing for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue lake water, distant wooded hills, a white fence, red swing set, swimming pool, lounge chairs, lawn, and a person resting near the pool.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, dark rounded frame edges, slight exposure variation, and saturated blues and greens typical of amateur color film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for summer travel, poolside quiet, or home-movie views of waterfront recreation.
Historical context: The scene documents private leisure around water in a mid-1970s home-movie context without supporting claims about a specific event or named property.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness and possible property considerations should be reviewed separately from any copyright licensing status.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1975 8mm home movie pool, Middletown Pennsylvania lake vacation, 1970s family leisure footage, and vintage swimming pool cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent material from the same reel, then with Middletown or Pennsylvania footage from 1975, then with broader 1970s summer leisure scenes.
