Women Lay Out On A Dock Under The Sun And Watch — Clip Details

A woman in a pink tank top and blue shorts lies on a wooden dock at Middletown, Pennsylvania in 1975, basking in the sun beside calm blue water. She rests on her stomach, propped on her elbows, as another person in a red plaid shirt and white cap lies nearby. The 8mm home movie captures the relaxed, sun-drenched atmosphere of a summer day by the water, with gentle waves lapping the dock. The footage shows natural film grain and color fading typical of vintage Super 8 footage, offering authentic archival material for documentaries, nostalgic content, or historical storytelling.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s home-movie requests needing a brief leisure insert of adults sunning beside water on a wooden dock.
Period detail: The swimwear, dock setting, and 8mm color home-movie look may show mid-century summer recreation rather than formal travel footage.
Home-movie behavior: The clip captures relaxed, unstaged behavior as people lie on the dock, glance toward the water, and briefly look toward the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two women or adults, a wooden dock, blue water, summer clothing, a white cap, plaid shirt, shadows, and film frame edges.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, mild color shift, uneven exposure, and slight handheld framing that preserve its home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, summer memory beat, or quiet transition around leisure, waterfront life, or family-vacation material.
Historical context: The scene documents casual waterside recreation and sunbathing in an informal home-movie setting without identifying a specific public event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed even if no logos, music, or obvious private property are present.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1940s 8mm home movie dock sunbathing, women by water, summer leisure footage, and Middletown Pennsylvania home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Middletown 1947 footage, then broader dock, water, and summer recreation scenes.
