Woman in Red Jacket with Police Officer — Clip Details

A woman in a red jacket stands on a sidewalk in Washington DC in 1975, framed by a dense, flowering hedge with a distinct purple-pink hue. She is followed by a police officer in uniform, who walks past her and then peeks through the foliage. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures a candid moment with natural film grain and color shifts characteristic of vintage home movies from the mid-1970s. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Washington DC home-movie requests needing a brief sidewalk cutaway with a woman waiting and a uniformed police officer nearby.
Period detail: The red coat, uniform styling, 8mm color, and metadata-supported 1975 Washington DC setting place the scene in a mid-1970s public sidewalk context.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged pause and glance: a woman waits near flowering shrubs while a uniformed officer moves through the frame.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a red-jacketed woman, a uniformed police officer, dense purple-pink flowering hedge, sidewalk edge, trees, and handheld framing.
Film character: The scan has pronounced 8mm grain, soft focus, magenta color shift, uneven exposure, and handheld movement that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short observational insert, transition, or memory beat for everyday public life in Washington DC during the 1970s.
Historical context: The footage shows a casual public interaction space rather than a formal event, with police presence and civilian waiting as visible social context.
Research note: People and a uniformed police officer are visible, so likeness and context review may be needed in addition to separate copyright licensing.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1975 Washington DC 8mm home movie sidewalk scene, woman in red coat, police officer walking, and flowering hedge cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel Washington DC material, then other 1975 city sidewalk footage, then broader 1970s police or candid public-life scenes.
