Day Of Golfing — Clip Details

A man in a light-colored shirt and trousers plays golf on a grassy lawn in this 8mm home movie from 1975. Shot in black and white, the footage captures him mid-swing, addressing the ball, and following through with a club. The grainy, slightly blurry quality and film edges are characteristic of vintage Super 8 home footage. A parked car is visible in the background, suggesting a suburban backyard setting. The sequence conveys a casual, nostalgic moment of 1970s recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1970s U.S. home-movie footage of casual recreation, amateur golf practice, or suburban leisure for documentary, educational, or editorial use.
Period detail: The light clothing, simple lawn setting, parked car, and black-and-white 8mm texture support the supplied 1975 Harrisburg-area home-movie context without showing a named landmark.
Home-movie behavior: The clip captures an unstaged adult golfer practicing swings on grass, with the camera observing a familiar backyard-style activity rather than a formal sports event.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include an adult man, golf club, grassy lawn, long shadows, trees or shrubs, a parked car, film frame edges, and soft handheld composition.
Film character: The footage has grain, gate edges, mild blur, exposure variation, and a contact-print feel that reads as authentic scanned 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for 1970s leisure, amateur sports, family recreation, or quiet suburban downtime.
Historical context: The scene offers small-scale social context for informal mid-1970s recreation, showing golf practice as a casual personal activity in an outdoor residential-looking space.
Research note: An identifiable adult may be present, so likeness review is advised; no visible brands are apparent, and copyright, likeness, and property issues should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Likely researcher matches include 1975 8mm golf practice, Harrisburg Pennsylvania home movie, 1970s backyard recreation, amateur golfer, and vintage family sports footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1975 Harrisburg material, then broader 1970s home-movie scenes of outdoor recreation or amateur sports.
