Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for documentary or museum edits needing a brief 1940s 8mm family-title insert from a named home-movie reel.
Period detail: The visible typewritten title card gives 1946 and names the Bogar family, with monochrome film texture and rounded frame edges supporting a mid-century home-movie context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves a family filmmaker's introductory card rather than observed action, giving the reel a personal archival voice before any family scenes appear.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include typewritten title text, the year 1946, a named family list, soft focus, gray film grain, dark edge vignetting, and one overexposed blank frame.
Film character: The footage has dense grain, soft registration, uneven exposure, and dark gate edges that read as original small-gauge home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as an opening insert, chapter marker, family-history transition, or memory beat before related 1940s home-movie material.
Historical context: The card documents how a private family reel identified relatives by first name, offering social context without showing people in these sampled frames.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or private property are visible here, but researchers should still verify copyright status and family-name sensitivity before publication.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 8mm family title card, Bogar family home movie, Pennsylvania family archive, and typewritten home-movie intertitle.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent Bogar reel footage, then Harrisburg or 1946 family material, then broader named-family home-movie title cards.
