A Video Of Different Beds Of Flowers And Trees In A Field — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1941, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched garden in New York USA, featuring vibrant red and yellow flowers blooming among lush green trees and shrubs. The footage, framed by the classic black borders of an 8mm projector, shows a peaceful, natural landscape with a gentle, handheld camera movement that pans across the colorful flower beds. The warm, slightly faded color palette and visible film grain evoke a strong sense of nostalgia and mid-century Americana, offering authentic archival footage for historical or editorial projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York home-movie requests needing a brief garden, flower-bed, or leafy landscape cutaway for documentary, museum, education, or editorial use.
Period detail: The frames show color 8mm garden footage with no visible people, signage, vehicles, or landmarks, so the 1941 New York setting is supported by metadata rather than visual identifiers.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an amateur home-movie viewpoint, lingering on sunlit shrubs and flower beds as a personal record of a garden rather than a staged landscape scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include red blossoms, pale flowering shrubs, yellow flowers, green lawn, trees, garden stakes, soft foliage, and dark 8mm frame borders.
Film character: The footage carries warm color, visible grain, soft focus, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing typical of scanned small-gauge home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, seasonal transition, memory beat, or nature cutaway within a 1940s domestic or regional archive sequence.
Historical context: As a private garden view, the clip offers modest visual context for mid-century home and leisure filming without showing identifiable social activity or public events.
Research note: No people, logos, or obvious brands are visible, but copyright status and any underlying property or location permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1941 New York 8mm garden footage, 1940s home movie flower beds, vintage color garden shrubs, and archival summer landscape cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1941 New York garden or domestic footage, then with broader 1940s nature and seasonal home-movie material.
