Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for archive requests needing 1940s Paris sports recreation, stadium atmosphere, or postwar European leisure footage for documentary, museum, education, or period montage use.
Period detail: The monochrome 8mm look, simple football kit, open grass pitch, and packed standing crowd may show mid-20th-century European match culture, consistent with the supplied 1947 Paris metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The short handheld view follows play from spectator distance, preserving the informal attention and missed details of a home-movie observer watching a live match.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include football players in light and dark kits, a marked grass pitch, a ball in play, sideline areas, distant goal structures, and dense stadium spectators.
Film character: The clip has strong 8mm grain, soft focus, exposure variation, gate shadows, and scratches that read as physical-film texture from an original home-movie scan.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief sports cutaway, period recreation insert, crowd-energy transition, or memory beat within a sequence about Paris, football, or leisure.
Historical context: The footage shows organized football as public entertainment, with men playing before a large crowd and the camera positioned among or near spectators rather than on the field.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still apply; no readable logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance remains separate from depicted-person rights.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940s Paris football match, vintage 8mm soccer stadium footage, postwar France sports crowd, and home movie of men playing soccer.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with other 1947 Paris material, and finally with broader mid-century football, stadium crowd, or public recreation scenes.
