Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s archival requests involving amateur-shot sports, public recreation, and postwar leisure in Paris for documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The monochrome 8mm view, uniformed field players, simple goal structure, and crowded stands may show mid-century organized sport in a Paris stadium setting.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the distant spectator viewpoint, with play observed from the stands rather than staged for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a grass playing field, white-uniformed players, goal posts, sideline markings, a dark-clothed official or spectator, stadium seating, and film gate edges.
Film character: The clip has a grainy 8mm texture with soft focus, mild exposure variation, vertical scratches, and dark frame edges from the physical film scan.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, sports cutaway, transition beat, or period recreation detail within a 1940s Paris sequence.
Historical context: The footage visually suggests organized outdoor recreation with spectators, but the frames do not identify the teams, venue, or event.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed even though no logos, music, or clear private property are apparent.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1947 Paris 8mm sports footage, vintage field hockey match, 1940s stadium recreation, and home movie team game.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with other Paris 1947 material, and then with vintage sports or public recreation scenes.
