Red Mountain No Vegetation Deserted Place Sky With Some... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1972, this vintage home movie captures a stark, desolate volcanic landscape in Idaho. The camera pans across a rugged, reddish-brown mountain slope devoid of vegetation, revealing textured volcanic rock and loose scree. A bright blue sky with scattered white clouds stretches above the barren terrain. The footage exhibits natural film grain and slight camera shake, characteristic of Super 8 home movies from the era. This raw, unfiltered archival clip evokes a sense of isolation and natural beauty, ideal for documentaries, historical projects, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Idaho 8mm archival requests needing a brief volcanic landscape cutaway, barren mountain insert, or isolated western terrain view.
Period detail: The frames show a home-movie view of reddish volcanic-looking slopes under blue sky, with the 1972 date supported by clip metadata rather than visible signage or dated objects.
Home-movie behavior: The handheld framing suggests a traveler or family-film operator panning across an austere landscape without staging, narration, or visible human activity.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include red-brown scree, rough dark rock faces, rounded barren hills, a pale blue sky, scattered white clouds, and black 8mm frame borders.
Film character: The clip carries an 8mm physical-film texture with visible grain, soft exposure, slight handheld movement, and contact-frame edge marks that support its home-movie origin.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a landscape insert, geographic transition, isolation beat, or cutaway for volcanic terrain and dry western travel sequences.
Historical context: The footage documents a visitor-level view of a barren Idaho landscape in the early 1970s, without visible infrastructure, people, vehicles, or named landmarks in frame.
Research note: No people, logos, music, or private property are visible in the supplied frames, but copyright, location verification, and any broader property context still need normal review.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1972 Idaho 8mm volcanic landscape, barren red mountain home movie, western desert slope footage, and vintage cloud sky terrain cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Idaho 1972 landscapes, then broader 1970s western terrain, desert, mountain, and travel footage.
