Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s documentary edits needing an archival map-viewing insert tied to Scapegoat Wilderness, Montana, outdoor planning, geography, or public-land research.
Period detail: The blue-tinted projected map, 8mm frame borders, and soft film grain support a 1973 home-movie context, while the map content identifies the Scapegoat Wilderness region.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged study moment, with the camera fixed on a projected map rather than people, suggesting trip planning, route review, or documentation of place.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a regional wilderness map, state and boundary lines, river or terrain markings, a right-side legend, blue projection cast, dark film borders, and contact-sheet repetition.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, blue projection tint, mild jitter, soft focus, and dark gate edges that give the map a physical home-movie scan texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a geographic cutaway, planning insert, chapter transition, or quiet memory beat before outdoor travel or Montana wilderness material.
Historical context: The frames show map-based orientation to Scapegoat Wilderness, reflecting a practical visual record of navigation or place study without showing travelers or the landscape itself.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible, but map copyright and any underlying publication rights should be reviewed separately from likeness or property concerns.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1973 8mm Montana map footage, Scapegoat Wilderness planning cutaway, vintage projected map, home movie geography insert, and public-land route study.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1973 Montana or Scapegoat Wilderness material, then broader map, travel-planning, camping, or wilderness cutaways.
