Small Tree Blowing In The Wind Near Rock Face Of Mountains — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1972, this vintage home movie captures a small green shrub with delicate leaves swaying in a gentle breeze against a rugged, dark volcanic rock face. The plant, with its thin branches and light-colored blossoms, stands resiliently in the crevice of the mountainous terrain. The footage exhibits natural film grain and subtle color shifts typical of Super 8 home movies, offering a nostalgic glimpse of nature's persistence in harsh environments. The camera remains steady, focusing on the plant's movement as it dances in the wind, creating a quiet, contemplative moment in the wild. Ideal for documentaries, nature projects, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Idaho 8mm nature footage for productions needing a quiet mountain cutaway of wind moving a small shrub against dark rock.
Period detail: The visible scene offers few era markers beyond the 8mm home-movie texture and metadata-supported 1972 Idaho setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip reflects an unstaged home-movie pause on a small natural detail rather than a planned wildlife or landscape setup.
What appears in frame: A small green shrub, pale blossoms, thin branches, dark volcanic-looking rock, crevices, shadowed edges, and film-frame borders are visible.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, slight softness, uneven exposure, and color shifts that read as physical home-movie film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a nature insert, reflective transition, environmental cutaway, or brief memory beat within a mountain sequence.
Historical context: The clip documents close observation of resilient vegetation in rocky Idaho terrain without showing people, structures, roads, or identifiable landmarks.
Research note: No people, logos, interiors, or obvious private property are visible, but copyright and location verification remain separate clearance considerations.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1972 Idaho 8mm shrub in wind, mountain rock face home movie, and vintage nature cutaway with leaves blowing.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1972 Idaho landscapes, then broader 1970s 8mm nature and mountain vegetation clips.
