Hay Bales Sitting In Green Fields On A Bright Sunny Day — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1972, this vintage home movie captures a wide green field scattered with numerous rectangular hay bales under a bright, sunny sky. The footage, viewed through the dark frame of a window or projector, shows a rural landscape with a slightly grainy, nostalgic quality and subtle camera movement. The bales are arranged in loose rows across the field, with some in sharp focus and others blurred, creating a sense of depth. This authentic slice of Americana offers a peaceful, pastoral moment from the early 1970s, ideal for historical or nostalgic projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Idaho 8mm rural field footage suited to documentary inserts, agricultural history cutaways, or Americana memory sequences.
Period detail: The rectangular hay bales, open green field, and 8mm color stock support an early 1970s rural home-movie context without showing identifiable landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged observer's view across farmland, likely filmed from behind a window or dark foreground frame during travel or a rural stop.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include green pasture, rectangular hay bales, dry patches of grass, distant field texture, dark vertical foreground bars, and soft horizon tones.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm grain, slight softness, mild color fading, and handheld framing that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet rural cutaway, seasonal agriculture insert, transition between travel scenes, or reflective memory beat.
Historical context: The view documents small-scale rural landscape appearance in Idaho in 1972, centered on harvested hay bales spread across an open field.
Research note: No people, logos, or brands are visible, but copyright, location verification, and any broader property context should still be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1972 Idaho hay field, 8mm rural America, vintage hay bales, green pasture home movie, and 1970s farm landscape.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with 1972 Idaho rural footage, then with broader haying, farmland, road-trip, or Americana themes.
