Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm nature footage for productions needing a brief Montana wilderness cutaway with small wildlife and a quiet mountain lake.
Period detail: The visible clues are mainly the 8mm home-movie texture, soft focus, saturated greens, and handheld framing consistent with the supplied 1972 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged travel-film feel, pausing first on a small animal on a rock and then drifting toward the lake shoreline.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a small animal on a boulder, shaded forest, calm lake water, evergreen shoreline, pale fallen logs, reflections, and rocky slopes.
Film character: The footage shows coarse 8mm grain, uneven exposure, soft focus, saturated forest color, and slight handheld instability as part of its archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a nature insert, wilderness transition, reflective cutaway, or memory beat within a 1970s outdoor sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents recreational home-movie attention to wildlife and mountain-lake scenery at Holland Lake without showing people or built structures.
Research note: No people, logos, or obvious private property are visible, but copyright, location permissions, and wildlife identification should still be reviewed.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1972 8mm Holland Lake Montana, vintage mountain lake home movie, small animal on rock, and 1970s wilderness footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent material from the same reel, then Holland Lake or Montana 1972 footage, then broader 1970s wilderness and lake scenes.
