Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm landscape footage for documentary, museum, education, or editorial projects needing a quiet Montana lake and mountain establishing view.
Period detail: The visible clues are mainly the 8mm home-movie color, grain, and handheld framing; the 1972 date and Holland Lake location are supported by supplied metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective from near or on the water, observing the lake and rocky mountain shoreline without staged action or visible people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include calm lake water, rocky mountain slopes, layered ridges, sparse shoreline vegetation, partly cloudy sky, and dark film-frame edges.
Film character: The footage shows saturated 8mm color, soft focus, visible grain, mild exposure variation, and handheld drift that give it physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an establishing insert, scenic transition, landscape cutaway, or reflective memory beat in a sequence about Montana travel or lakes.
Historical context: The view documents a recreational landscape in early 1970s home-movie form, with emphasis on natural terrain rather than people, vehicles, or built structures.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible in the frames, but copyright, location identification, and any required use permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1972 8mm Montana lake, Holland Lake home movie, vintage mountain shoreline, and 1970s American landscape footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1972 Holland Lake or Montana footage, then broader vintage lake and mountain travel scenes.
