Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a mother and son hiking through the rugged Minaret Wilderness in California. The woman wears a red and white checkered shirt and blue jeans, carrying a large red backpack, while her son, in a dark t-shirt and jeans, walks beside her. They navigate a rocky, snow-dusted mountainside under bright sunlight, their shadows stretching across the terrain. The footage shows natural movement and slight camera shake, with the film’s characteristic grain and color shift typical of Super 8 home movies from the era. The scene evokes a sense of adventure and familial connection in a remote natural setting.
