Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s archival requests needing brief 8mm home-movie footage of lake swimming in a remote Montana wilderness setting.
Period detail: The 1973 metadata and 8mm texture support a 1970s home-movie reading, while the visible frame offers few clothing or object clues beyond outdoor swim activity.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged personal moment as a single swimmer moves across calm water, filmed from a distant shoreline or boat perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer, rippling lake water, pale rocky hillside, distant shore, natural daylight, and dark 8mm frame borders.
Film character: The footage has coarse 8mm grain, muted color, soft focus, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, summer memory beat, wilderness recreation cutaway, or quiet transition between travel and landscape scenes.
Historical context: The scene shows recreational swimming in a natural lake setting, with no visible infrastructure or crowd activity to support broader historical claims.
Research note: A person is visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed; copyright status, location permissions, and privacy context are separate checks.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1970s 8mm Montana lake swimming, Scapegoat Wilderness home movie, vintage outdoor recreation, and rocky lakeshore footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then with 1973 Scapegoat Wilderness or Montana lake footage, then with broader home-movie outdoor recreation clips.
