Man Coming Out Of Telephone Booth On A Cruise — Clip Details

A man in a yellow plaid shirt and sunglasses steps out of a classic red British telephone booth on a cruise ship deck in 1971. The scene, captured on 8mm film, shows the iconic red booth against white ship railings and structural beams, with a long corridor extending into the distance. The footage has a warm, nostalgic color palette and visible film grain, characteristic of vintage home movies. The man walks away from the booth, revealing a second identical booth nearby, creating a striking contrast between British design and the American cruise ship setting.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s travel, cruise, and shipboard communication inserts in documentary or education edits needing authentic 8mm home-movie material.
Period detail: The red telephone kiosks, sunglasses, plaid shirt, and warm 8mm color may show early 1970s leisure-travel styling aboard a cruise ship.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged passenger moment as a man exits a shipboard telephone booth and walks through the deck corridor.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include red telephone booths, a man in a yellow plaid shirt, sunglasses, white railings, ship beams, deck walls, and corridor shadows.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, warm color shift, soft focus, gate edges, and slight handheld framing that give the scene physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, travel transition, communication cutaway, or memory beat within a 1970s cruise sequence.
Historical context: The scene visually connects shipboard leisure travel with British-style telephone kiosks, without proving a specific vessel or operator from the frames alone.
Research note: A visible adult face and identifiable telephone-booth design warrant likeness and brand-design review separate from underlying footage copyright status.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1971 8mm cruise ship deck, red telephone booth on ship, Long Beach travel home movie, and man exiting phone booth.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then Long Beach or 1971 cruise footage, then broader shipboard travel and vintage telephone themes.
