Six Women With Coats In Parking Lot On Windy Day — Clip Details

Six women in 1950s attire stand in a parking lot on a windy day, their coats flapping as they chat and wave. Shot on 8mm film in 1958, this vintage home movie captures a candid moment of friendship and casual interaction. Classic American cars from the era are parked behind them, with suburban houses and bare trees in the background. The footage shows natural film grain and color fading typical of Super 8 home movies, evoking a strong sense of mid-century Americana and nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s New York home-movie footage for productions needing a brief social parking-lot moment with women in coats and period cars.
Period detail: The women’s coats, dresses, handbags, and rounded late-1950s cars support the 1958 period setting noted in the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged group interaction as women chat, face the camera, hold coats against wind, and briefly pose together.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include six women, flapping coats, handbags, parked cars, open pavement, low buildings, bare trees, and a distant tree line.
Film character: The 8mm footage has soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, handheld framing, and contact-print edge shadows that add archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a cutaway, memory beat, or transitional insert for mid-century friendship, travel, suburban life, or women’s social scenes.
Historical context: The scene suggests everyday postwar American social life in an outdoor parking area without identifying a specific event, institution, or landmark.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from film copyright, with no visible logos or obvious private interiors in these frames.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1958 New York home movie women in coats, 1950s parking lot friends, windy day vintage cars, and 8mm women waving.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other 1958 New York exterior scenes, then broader 1950s women, cars, parking lots, and casual social gatherings.
