Men Passed Out In The Wilderness Possibly Drunk — Clip Details

A man in a light-colored shirt and vest stands in a rugged mountain landscape, looking down and then turning to gaze at the terrain. The scene shifts to show another man lying on the ground, partially obscured by branches and a plaid blanket, appearing unconscious or asleep. The final frames reveal a third man in a suit lying on his side on a rocky surface, suggesting exhaustion or intoxication. Shot on 8mm film in 1938, this vintage home movie captures a moment of rest or collapse in the wilderness, with visible film grain and edge damage characteristic of archival Super 8 footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1930s New York 8mm home-movie footage for productions needing a brief wilderness rest, collapse, or intoxication-related outdoor insert.
Period detail: The clothing, 8mm format, and metadata-supported 1938 date place the scene in a late-1930s outdoor leisure or travel context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value in its casual recording of men outdoors, including one standing in mountain terrain and others lying on the ground.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include mountain slopes, a man in a vest, brush and branches, a plaid blanket, rocky ground, trousers, a suit jacket, and partial standing figures.
Film character: Soft black-and-white exposure, visible grain, gate edges, scratches, and contact-sheet framing give the footage a tactile 8mm archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway or memory beat suggesting outdoor exhaustion, drunkenness, or informal rest during a wilderness outing.
Historical context: The footage may show a private 1930s excursion in rural or mountainous New York, with informal behavior recorded from a companion's viewpoint.
Research note: People are visible and likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1938 New York 8mm men in wilderness, vintage home movie passed out outdoors, and 1930s mountain outing footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel outdoor scenes, then with 1938 New York travel footage, then with broader 1930s wilderness or exhaustion themes.
