Shot on 8mm film in 1938, this vintage home movie captures a group of people gathered outdoors in New York City, sharing a meal. Individuals in period clothing sit and stand around a rocky area, eating from plates with a casual, communal atmosphere. The grainy black-and-white footage shows a woman in a light jacket and another in a plaid shirt, with a rock bearing the painted words 'NO GUNS' visible in the background. The handheld camera movement and natural lighting convey an authentic slice of everyday life from the late 1930s.
