Tadpole Swimming In Clear Water — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from British Columbia, USA, 1981, showing a close-up of a dark tadpole swimming in shallow, clear water. The scene is captured through a grainy, slightly blurry lens with visible film scratches and natural 8mm film grain. The water appears light greenish-gray with scattered organic debris on the bottom. The tadpole moves slowly across the frame, its tail undulating, offering a rare glimpse of aquatic life in a natural pond or stream setting. The footage has a nostalgic, archival quality typical of personal home movies from the early 1980s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1981 archival requests needing close natural-history 8mm footage of tadpoles or pond life as a quiet documentary cutaway.
Period detail: The footage is supported by metadata as 1981 8mm, with no visible landmarks or date-specific objects beyond the home-movie film texture.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an observational home-movie perspective, lingering close to shallow water as a tadpole moves through the frame.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include dark tadpoles, pale green-gray water, soft organic debris, a shallow bottom, film scratches, and rounded frame edges.
Film character: The scan shows visible 8mm grain, soft focus, muted green-gray exposure, light scratches, and slight registration softness that read as physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a nature insert, ecological cutaway, pond-life transition, or quiet memory beat within a home-movie sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents small-scale aquatic wildlife in shallow clear water, without visible people, buildings, signage, or identifiable public events.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible, though copyright and source-film licensing still require normal archive review.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1981 8mm tadpole footage, vintage pond life, home-movie wildlife close-up, and archival shallow water nature inserts.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then with other British Columbia 1981 nature footage, then with broader vintage pond, river, amphibian, or wildlife material.
