Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Supports archive requests for 1980s outdoor recreation, whitewater boating, and home-movie adventure sport material for documentary, education, or commercial edits.

Period detail

The clip may show late 20th-century paddling gear, including a white helmet, red flotation vest, and long green boat, consistent with the supplied 1980 home-movie metadata.

Home-movie behavior

The value is in the unstaged observer perspective as a paddler moves through rapids while the handheld camera follows from a distant riverbank viewpoint.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a kayaker or canoeist, whitewater rapids, a green boat, a white helmet, red and blue safety gear, a paddle, dark river water, and Super 8 frame borders.

Film character

The footage has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, slight color fading, exposure variation, and handheld framing that preserve the texture of a scanned home movie.

Edit role

An editor could use this as an action insert, outdoor recreation cutaway, river transition, or memory beat within a sequence about paddling or travel in Wyoming.

Historical context

The scene reflects recreational whitewater boating in a mountain-river setting, with safety gear and amateur filming suggesting personal travel or sport documentation.

Research note

A person is visible from a distance, so likeness review may be needed even though faces, logos, private property, and music are not apparent in the supplied frames.
