Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1980s documentary or educational requests needing Grand Teton vacation footage, lake recreation, or quiet American West travel atmosphere.
Period detail: The small motorboats, saturated color, and 8mm home-movie framing support an early-1980s recreational travel context without visible signage or brands.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves a visitor-shot scenic pause, with the camera holding on boats and mountains rather than staging action or people.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue lake water, small boats, shoreline trees, foreground shrubs, distant mountain peaks, bright sky, and dark film-frame edges.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm texture, visible grain, slight gate shadowing, blue-green color bias, and modest exposure variation from the original film scan.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a scenic cutaway, travel transition, lake recreation insert, or reflective memory beat in a Grand Teton sequence.
Historical context: The view documents leisure boating in a national-park mountain setting, emphasizing landscape tourism and summer recreation rather than a specific public event.
Research note: No people, logos, or private property are visible, but copyright, location permissions, and broader project clearance should still be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Searches such as 1980 8mm Grand Teton lake boats, Wyoming home movie mountain lake, or vintage boating vacation footage would match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1980 Grand Teton or Wyoming footage, then broader mountain lake recreation scenes.
