Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1980s Western USA outdoor recreation requests needing real 8mm river scenery, rafting, and mountain landscape coverage.
Period detail: The footage may show late-20th-century leisure rafting, with era clues limited to the 8mm color stock, casual outdoor activity, and metadata-supported 1980 date.
Home-movie behavior: The unstaged value is a stationary home-movie view of people drifting in a yellow raft while another figure walks along the gravel riverbank.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a calm river, gravel bar, yellow inflatable raft, small human figures, tree line, mountain range, blue sky, and scattered clouds.
Film character: The clip carries an 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, modest color fade, gate edges, and hair or dust marks across the frame.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a quiet scenic insert, outdoor recreation cutaway, travel-memory transition, or establishing beat for river and mountain leisure.
Historical context: The scene reflects recreational use of a mountain river landscape, but the frames do not identify a specific park, river, community, or event.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1980 8mm Western USA river rafting, home movie mountain scenery, yellow raft on river, and vintage outdoor recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel outdoor scenes, then other 1980 Western USA river or mountain material, then broader vintage rafting and nature recreation clips.
