Person Wearing Red Jacket Skiing Downhill On A Sunny... — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie clip from 1962 showing a person in a red jacket skiing downhill on a snowy slope. The skier, wearing dark pants and holding poles, descends a gentle incline with trees visible at the top of the frame. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film characteristics: grainy texture, soft focus, and a slightly faded color palette with prominent reds and whites. The camera remains relatively steady, capturing the skier's movement against a bright winter backdrop. This authentic, unedited home movie captures a moment of 1960s winter recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for archive requests needing 1960s New York winter recreation, amateur skiing, or home-movie inserts for documentary and educational edits.
Period detail: The red ski jacket, dark pants, pole use, and soft 8mm color may show early-1960s recreational ski clothing and filming style.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value, following a single skier making a simple downhill run on a snowy slope.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a lone skier in a red jacket, ski poles, a broad snow-covered slope, dark tree line, soft focus, and contact-sheet frame edges.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows visible grain, muted winter color, slight softness, and exposure contrast between bright snow and dark trees.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short recreation cutaway, seasonal transition, memory beat, or visual insert for amateur skiing.
Historical context: The footage places personal winter sport within a family-film context, with no visible resort signage or identifiable landmark in the frames.
Research note: A person is visible at distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1960s New York skiing home movie, 8mm winter recreation, red jacket skier, and vintage downhill ski footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other New York 1962 winter footage, then broader 1960s skiing or family recreation clips.
