Two Men Riding Ski Lift to Mountain Top — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm film from 1962 captures two men riding a red ski lift ascending a snowy mountain in New Hampshire. The men wear winter jackets and ski gear, with one in a blue sweater and the other in green, both seated on the chairlift against a backdrop of snow-covered peaks and evergreen trees under a clear blue sky. The footage shows natural film grain and slight color fading typical of home movies from the era, with the camera capturing the lift's steady ascent and panoramic mountain views. This authentic archival footage offers a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century winter recreation and classic American ski resort life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s archival requests about American ski recreation, winter travel, and home-movie views of New Hampshire mountain leisure.
Period detail: The open red chairlift, simple ski clothing, and soft 8mm color may show early-1960s recreational ski culture without identifying a specific resort.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged home-movie feel, observing two adult skiers riding quietly upward while the camera follows their chair against the mountain view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two adult men, a red ski-lift chair, dangling skis, snowy ridges, evergreen trees, blue sky, and lift cables.
Film character: The footage shows 8mm grain, slight color fading, soft focus, and exposure shifts that give the mountain scene clear physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a winter-sports insert, travel transition, recreational cutaway, or memory beat within a mid-century vacation sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects leisure skiing as a social outdoor activity, with two adults ascending above snowy terrain in a modest chairlift setting.
Research note: Adults are visible and likeness review may be needed; no logos or brands are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from people or property concerns.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1960s New Hampshire ski lift, vintage 8mm ski resort, home movie winter recreation, and two men on chairlift.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then New Hampshire 1962 winter footage, then broader vintage ski, mountain, and snow recreation material.
