Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s California recreation or marine-show sequences needing brief 8mm home-movie footage of a sea lion pulling a float in a pool.
Period detail: The pool setting, yellow float, and 8mm color stock may show a mid-century public aquatic attraction or recreation venue in California.
Home-movie behavior: The framing feels visitor-shot from a distance, following the animal act through handheld home-movie observation rather than staged production coverage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue pool water, a yellow float, a sea lion or similar marine animal, a pool deck, fencing, a small platform, and a person in white clothing.
Film character: The clip has pronounced 8mm grain, softened focus, color fading, gate edges, and slight handheld instability that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: Editors could use this as a short insert, cutaway, or memory beat for mid-century leisure, animal entertainment, or California travel material.
Historical context: The footage reflects a spectator view of an aquatic animal performance, with social context limited to recreation and animal display visible in the frames.
Research note: People are visible and the venue is not identified, so copyright, likeness, and property considerations should be reviewed separately before use.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1962 California 8mm sea lion pool trick, vintage marine animal show, home movie aquatic performance, and yellow float pool footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other California 1962 scenes, then broader 1960s recreation or marine-animal performance clips.
