Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s California leisure, marine park entertainment, animal training, and mid-century family travel sequences in documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The trainer's white uniform, concrete show platform, hoop, ball props, and faded 8mm color may show a 1962-era marine animal attraction in California.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot home-movie perspective, observing the sea lion act from the audience area rather than from a staged production angle.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a uniformed trainer, two sea lions, a balancing ball, a suspended hoop, a concrete performance platform, pool water, show props, and partial signage.
Film character: The footage carries soft 8mm grain, mild color fading, gate edges, and slight handheld framing that support its physical home-movie character.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, leisure-history cutaway, travel memory beat, or transition into broader material on animal shows and California tourism.
Historical context: The scene reflects mid-century public entertainment involving trained marine animals, while the exact venue and sponsoring organization are not confirmed from the frames.
Research note: People and partial signage are visible, so likeness, venue, trademark, and animal-performance context may need review separate from any copyright assessment.
Research search match: Searches such as 1960s California sea lion show, vintage 8mm marine animal performance, trainer with seals and ball, or home movie aquarium act may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel amusement or travel footage, then other 1962 California visitor scenes, then broader vintage marine animal show or family tourism material.
