Vintage 1952 California parade footage captured on 8mm film shows women in bathing suits and sashes waving from a float. A contestant in a yellow swimsuit with a 'CHILE' sash appears first, followed by another in a teal swimsuit with a 'DELAWARE' sash, both smiling and waving to crowds. The scene features colorful banners, a building backdrop, and a lively atmosphere. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, slight color fading, and authentic 1950s home movie charm. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s California home-movie parade footage for documentary, museum, education, or commercial edits needing mid-century pageant float material.
Period detail: The swimsuits, sashes, parade float design, flags, and sunlit street crowd support a 1952 mid-century pageant or festival setting in California.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the visitor-shot view of contestants smiling and waving toward spectators from a moving parade float.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include sash-wearing women in swimsuits, parade float backdrops, small flags, a street crowd, building facades, and signs or lettering.
Film character: The 8mm footage has soft focus, visible grain, color fading, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, crowd cutaway, or memory beat for mid-century leisure, pageantry, or public celebration.
Historical context: The clip shows public display and spectatorship around women presented as pageant contestants, without enough evidence to identify the exact event.
Research note: People, faces, sashes, and visible signage require review for likeness, trademark, and contextual use, separate from any film copyright assessment.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1950s 8mm California parade, bathing suit pageant float, women waving to crowd, and mid-century home movie festival footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1952 California parade material, then broader 1950s pageant or festival crowd footage.
