Person Ice Fishing on Frozen Lake in Winter Clothes — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Wisconsin, USA, in 1957, showing a person in heavy winter clothing ice fishing on a frozen lake. The clip opens with a wide shot of a figure in a dark parka walking across the snow-covered ice near a small wooden outhouse, with a classic car visible in the background. The scene shifts to a close-up of a hole in the ice, where a fishing rod is positioned. A second person, wearing a plaid hat and light jacket, leans over the hole, actively engaged in fishing. The footage exhibits natural film grain, slight color fading, and authentic Super 8 characteristics, capturing a nostalgic moment of winter recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Wisconsin home-movie footage for productions needing a brief winter recreation or ice-fishing insert with visible people on a frozen lake.
Period detail: The heavy parkas, simple wooden ice shelter, snowy lake setting, and distant period car support the supplied 1957 Wisconsin context without identifying a specific town.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged family-film value, observing bundled people walking on the ice and checking a fishing hole during a cold-weather outing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a frozen lake, snow, an ice-fishing hole, a short rod, bundled winter clothing, a wooden shelter, a distant car, and a person bending near the ice.
Film character: The 8mm footage carries soft focus, visible grain, muted winter color, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, seasonal transition, memory beat, or visual insert for winter leisure, rural recreation, or family archive sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents mid-century recreational ice fishing as seen through a domestic camera, emphasizing winter clothing, frozen-lake activity, and casual outdoor companionship.
Research note: People are visible and at least one face appears, so likeness review may be needed in addition to separate copyright and location-use assessment.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1950s Wisconsin ice fishing 8mm, frozen lake home movie, winter recreation footage, and vintage family film ice hole fishing.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1957 Wisconsin winter footage, then broader mid-century ice fishing or snowy outdoor recreation clips.
