Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s U.S. leisure, family boating, and mid-century lake recreation sequences in documentary, museum, or editorial productions.
Period detail: The white boat console, simple steering wheel, sunglasses, and checkered sun hat support a late-1950s home-movie recreation setting.
Home-movie behavior: The woman smiles toward the camera from the boat, giving the clip an unstaged family-record view of sunny lake activity.
What appears in frame: Visible details include a white boat dashboard, steering wheel, control knobs, moving lake water, a checkered sun hat, dark sunglasses, and a smiling adult woman.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, bright sun exposure, and slight handheld framing typical of home-movie footage.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, recreation cutaway, family-memory beat, or transition into a summer boating sequence.
Historical context: The footage reflects informal mid-century lake leisure in Wisconsin, seen through a personal home-movie camera rather than staged travel coverage.
Research note: An adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos, children, private property, or audible music are indicated, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1957 Wisconsin 8mm boating, 1950s lake recreation, vintage home movie woman on boat, and mid-century summer leisure footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Wisconsin 1957 lake footage, then broader 1950s boating and family recreation scenes.
