Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1940s Washington home-movie footage suited to documentary requests for recreational fishing, mountain lake travel, and family leisure scenes.
Period detail: The clothing, wooden pier, simple fishing gear, and black-and-white 8mm look support a 1940s home-movie reading without identifying a specific lake.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value as people gather casually on a lakeside platform while a woman holds up a caught fish.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a mountain lake, forested shoreline, wooden pier, fishing rods, caught fish, adults in outdoor clothing, boats, and a striped umbrella.
Film character: The footage carries a soft 8mm texture with visible grain, mild exposure shifts, frame marks, and handheld framing across the lake and pier.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, cutaway, or memory beat for outdoor recreation, family travel, or fishing in the Pacific Northwest.
Historical context: The scene reflects mid-century leisure at a mountain lake, with adults fishing from a pier against wooded hills and calm water.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so copyright status should be considered separately from likeness or privacy review before public or commercial use.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1940s Washington fishing home movie, 8mm mountain lake pier, woman holding caught fish, and vintage family fishing trip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with Washington 1940 lake footage, and finally with broader fishing or outdoor recreation material.
