Hiking To The Pool — Clip Details

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s California outdoor recreation requests needing brief home-movie footage of hikers moving through rocky terrain toward a pool.
Period detail: The clothing and 8mm home-movie handling may show late-1930s leisure travel, with no visible landmark or signage identifying the exact site.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves unstaged movement as people pick their way over loose rocks and pause near water, filmed from a personal travel perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include rocky hillside, loose gravel, hikers in light and dark clothing, a large rock face, calm greenish water, reeds, and handheld framing.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, warm color, uneven exposure, slight blur, and handheld composition that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for outdoor travel, hiking, summer recreation, or family-trip sequences.
Historical context: The scene offers visual context for informal outdoor recreation in California, showing people navigating natural terrain rather than a staged excursion.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, location access, and property issues should be assessed separately before use.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1930s California hiking footage, vintage 8mm rocky pool, home movie outdoor recreation, and archival swimmers by rock face.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel travel scenes, then other 1937 California footage, then broader vintage hiking, nature, and pool recreation material.
