Trucks Passing By On Bridges And Boat Passing By In — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Washington DC, USA, in 1975, showing a white truck crossing a large steel truss bridge over water. The clip captures the vehicle moving from left to right, with a distant boat visible on the water below. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film characteristics: soft focus, prominent purple color cast, film grain, and surface scratches. Shot from a fixed perspective, likely from a window, the scene evokes a nostalgic, mid-20th century American transportation moment.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Washington, DC home-movie footage for projects needing transportation, bridge, river traffic, or urban infrastructure cutaways.
Period detail: The frames show a steel truss bridge, boxy white trucks, open water, and a small boat, with the supplied 1975 Washington, DC metadata supporting the period setting.
Home-movie behavior: The fixed, window-like viewpoint gives the clip an observational home-movie feel, watching ordinary traffic and water movement rather than a staged scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a steel bridge, white trucks, bridge supports, water, a small boat, dark window framing, distant shoreline, and film surface marks.
Film character: Soft focus, purple-blue color shift, grain, scratches, and slight exposure variation give the 8mm scan a recognizable physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief transportation insert, urban river cutaway, transition between Washington scenes, or memory beat for 1970s travel.
Historical context: The clip places road and river movement in the same frame, suggesting everyday urban infrastructure and transport without identifying a specific landmark.
Research note: No people, faces, readable brands, or obvious logos are visible, but copyright status and any bridge or property permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1975 Washington DC bridge traffic, 8mm truck on bridge, home movie river boat, steel truss bridge over water, and vintage transportation cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring reel shots, then other 1975 Washington, DC material, then broader bridge, river traffic, truck, boat, and urban transport footage.
