Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s U.S. summer recreation sequences needing home-movie footage of swimming in a calm coastal or bayside water setting.
Period detail: The 8mm color image, buoy line, simple dock edge and distant swimmer support a late-1960s leisure setting without showing a specific landmark.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, distant observation of one person swimming, recorded as an unstaged family or vacation moment from shore.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer, blue water, small splashes, a floating buoy line, yellow marker buoys, a dock edge, dark film borders and light vegetation.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, blue color cast, soft focus, motion blur and gate borders that read as original home-movie film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a quiet cutaway, summer memory insert, recreation transition or establishing beat for waterfront leisure.
Historical context: The footage reflects everyday outdoor recreation in Ocean City, New Jersey, with the swimmer separated from the camera by buoys and open water.
Research note: A person is visible at a distance, so likeness review may still apply even though no logos, music or clear private property are evident in the frames.
Research search match: Researchers may find it under 1968 8mm home movie swimming, Ocean City New Jersey water recreation, buoy line swimmer, or vintage summer footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other 1968 Ocean City scenes, then broader vintage swimming, beach, bay or summer recreation footage.
