Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie lake swimming footage for editors needing summer recreation, dockside leisure, or family-vacation cutaways.
Period detail: The swimwear, floating swim platform, simple wooden dock, and saturated 8mm color may show a late-1960s recreational lake setting.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged dockside watching and swimming, with people relaxing as a swimmer crosses the water near a floating platform.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a wooden dock, seated swimmers, a white sun hat, blue lake water, a floating platform, tree-lined shore, splash, and dark foliage at frame edge.
Film character: The clip has dense 8mm grain, blue-biased color, high-contrast shadows, slight softness, and contact-sheet gate edges that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a summer-memory insert, a leisure cutaway, or a transition beat between broader vacation or waterfront sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents informal outdoor recreation, with swimmers using a dock and swim platform in a quiet lake environment rather than a staged public event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright status is separate from any personal or property permissions.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1960s 8mm lake swimming, Ocean City New Jersey home movie, dock swimmers, floating platform, and vintage summer recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel waterfront scenes, then other Ocean City 1968 material, then broader 1960s swimming, lake, and summer vacation footage.
